Each year we select beneficiary organizations doing meaningful work in the community to receive the proceeds from our fundraising. Since 1996, the Pride & Remembrance Run has helped over 35 separate charities.

Welcome to the Pride and Remembrance Foundation’s new website! After nearly 15 years of being hosted by the Pride and Remembrance Association, we are proud to launch our new online home. Here you’ll find stories of impact, opportunities to connect, and updates on how, together, we can support and strengthen the 2SLGBTQ+ community.
The Pride and Remembrance Foundation (the Foundation) was established in 2010 to support the 2SLGBTQ+ community in Canada. As the charitable arm of the Pride and Remembrance Run, the Foundation has helped to enable over $4,000,000 in gifts to charitable organizations by 2025.
Through the Foundation’s own granting program, Pride and Remembrance Run Grants have helped registered Canadian charities implement impactful initiatives that align with our mission of fostering health and well-being, inclusion, and unity.
In 2024, the Foundation gifted nearly $80,000 to a broad range of organizations providing health, social, cultural and educational benefits to 2SLGBTQ+ communities across the country.
The Foundation’s grant program keeps the spirit of the Run alive all year-round and gives the Run a unique opportunity to support smaller, innovative projects.

A FEW OF OUR BENEFICIARIES
INSIDE OUT 2SLGBTQ+ FILM FESTIVAL, Toronto, Canada
Project Name: Run It Back: 35 Years of Inside Out
This program is a curated five-film series in 2025 to celebrate 35 years of the Inside Out Film Festival, showcasing a vibrant collection of festival favourites. The Foundation was the principal financial backer of this project, covering screening fees, venue rentals, and guest travel for the series.
CUMMINGS JEWISH CENTRE FOR SENIORS, Montreal, Canada
project name: FIT, FUN, AND FABULOUS
This is a program to support the organization’s initiatives for 2SLGBTQ+ Inclusion, Allyship, and Advocacy. The programming focuses on physical activity and musical expression, for LGBTQ+ seniors who would benefit from this type of specialized programing to ensure that their health goals/needs are supported as they age.
LESBIAN GAY BI TRANS YOUTH LINE, Toronto, Canada
project name: Volunteer Access Fund
This program supports the occupational capacity of YouthLine volunteers, ensuring that they have the necessary resources to effectively fulfill their roles. The Access Fund is designed to reduce financial barriers, improve volunteer retention, and enhance the overall quality of peer support services offered through the HelpLine.
SPECTRUM WATERLOO REGION RAINBOW COMM. SPACE
PROJECT NAME: 2SLGBTQIA+ MULTI-SPORT DROP-IN
This program is like a gym class for 2SLGBTQIA+ adults to enjoy being active and playing sports in a safe space where they can be free from discrimination based on their bodies, gender expression, or ability.

MAKE A DONATION
The Foundation welcomes donations year-round that may be made through the CanadaHelps Pride and Remembrance Foundation page.
The PRA organizes the Run. Participants and supporters raise charitable funds. The PRF receives, administers and distributes those funds and operates its own national grant program.
